Christoph Hein — Historian of Enterprise Decision-Making

Christoph Hein speaks about the history of enterprise planning and what it can teach finance leaders about technology and transformation today. His talks connect TM1, OLAP, planning systems, business intelligence, data culture, and artificial intelligence with the recurring organizational questions behind them: how people establish trust in numbers, coordinate action, adopt new systems, and turn information into decisions.

Speaking Themes

  • Planning transformation: how adoption, governance, data foundations, incentives, and operating models shape the value of a new planning platform.
  • Evaluating technology: how finance leaders can examine assumptions, dependencies, organizational readiness, and evidence alongside technical capability.
  • AI in finance and planning: what agents, assistants, forecasting tools, and decision intelligence change—and how they continue earlier ambitions for automation and better managerial judgment.
  • TM1, OLAP, and enterprise planning: what four decades of TM1 reveal about the evolution of planning technology and the language of better decision-making.

What Audiences Take Away
